June has arrived at Forty Acre Farm, bringing longer days, warmer evenings and plenty of lovely reasons to gather, create and enjoy good food together.
This month we’re celebrating everything we love most about summer at The Lovely Cow Shed — relaxed hospitality, seasonal catering, creative workshops, special events, countryside escapes and, of course, plenty of reyt good fodder.

Summer celebrations are now in full swing, and we’re busy helping create memorable events filled with comforting food, beautiful presentation and warm hospitality.
Whether you’re planning an intimate family gathering, a relaxed wedding, a celebration of life, a birthday, baby shower or a corporate get-together, we believe great food should feel generous, thoughtful and full of flavour.

Our workshops are now available as private bookings — simply gather your friends, family or team, choose what you’d like to create, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Perfect for birthdays, hen gatherings, team socials, family get-togethers or simply a lovely afternoon with friends.
🧺 Father’s Day Ploughman’s Platters
Collection only – Sunday 21st June from 11am at The Granary
Our rustic Father’s Day Ploughman’s Platters are back — packed with hearty farmhouse favourites and perfect for sharing.
£40 per platter – generously feeds 2–4 people.
🎶 American Independence Day Supper Club
We’re excited for our upcoming American Independence Day themed Supper Club with Tino at The Lovely Cow Shed, with live entertainment from Alice Newby.
Date: Saturday 4th July 2026

🌱 What to Forage in June
June is a beautiful month for elderflower, wild herbs, edible flowers and summer greenery.
Try making a simple elderflower cordial with fresh elderflower heads, lemons, sugar and water — perfect with sparkling water over ice.
📚 Book Club Corner
Our book clubs continue to be one of the cosiest highlights of the month — full of comforting food, thoughtful discussion and brilliant conversation.
The Granary Book Club: Last month’s read was The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods, scoring 4.5/5. Next up is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
The Lovely Readers: Our Lovely Readers have just finished The Nightingale, which led to heartfelt and emotional discussion.

Our Shepherd’s Huts at Hidden Fell Escapes are open for bookings — perfect for a peaceful countryside getaway surrounded by nature.
