🌿 January 2026 Highlights from The Lovely Cow Shed 🐄

January at Forty Acre Farm has been all about fresh starts, slower days, and easing gently into the new year. After the festive bustle, The Lovely Cow Shed returned to its cosy rhythm — welcoming guests for creative workshops, thoughtful gatherings, and nourishing food shared around the table.

✨ A Fresh Start Full of Creativity

We kicked off 2026 with a wonderful mix of hands-on workshops designed to inspire and unwind. Our Bread, Scones & Homemade Jam Workshop brought people together for a relaxed baking day filled with learning, laughter, and plenty of cake. Creative evenings followed too — calm, welcoming sessions where guests could switch off, get creative, and enjoy time in good company. #FreshStart #CreativeJanuary #TheLovelyCowShed

🌲 Foraging Feature: January’s Quiet Harvest

January may feel quiet in the countryside, but nature still has plenty to offer for those who know where to look. This month we explored the beauty of winter foraging — slowing down, observing carefully, and appreciating hardy greens, roots, and fungi that thrive even in the cold. Winter foraging is about respect, patience, and connection to the land — a gentle reminder that nourishment doesn’t always come from abundance. #WinterForaging #QuietHarvest #SeasonalLiving

📚 Book Clubs & Community

Lovely Readers Book Club

Last month’s meeting took a delightfully mischievous turn as we swapped pages for puzzles and hosted a full-on murder mystery evening! Huge congratulations to Alex for cracking the case. Fear not — we’ll be returning to our planned book review at the New Year meet.

The Granary Book Club

This month we discussed The House of Lost Whispers by Jenni Keer, accompanied by chicken curry, rice, and a generous helping of cake and custard. Warm food, great conversation, and shared stories — just how book club should be.

January also saw us continuing to cater for gatherings both big and small — from comforting food for winter events to thoughtful menus made with local ingredients and no hidden extras. Whether you’re planning a celebration, a quiet family gathering, or something in between, we’re now taking bookings for 2026. 📞 Call Annie: 07968 905607
